Sun Microsystems
I've included a Sun page on my website because it's the platform I've spent the most time with over the last 10 years or so (other than Windows on the desktop). I've probably installed and setup a couple hundred Sun servers (including the applications that run on most of them). I'm starting this page by including some of the most useful websites I've used and discovered over the years. Later I'll add some notes and cheat sheets I've put together and gathered. For now, here are some links:
http://www.sun.com The obvious one. http://sunsolve.sun.com Hopefully you know about this one. You can download patches and find tons of support information here. If you have a SunSpectrum Contract (software support), you have access to much more than just with guest access. http://docs.sun.com Sun's online repository for their product documentation. If you're looking for some quick reference material, try SunSolve (infodocs). Unfortunately, you need full access to get to all of them. http://www.sunfreeware.com This is a website not maintained by Sun (although it has strong ties to Sun). When I found out about this website I couldn't believe I didn't know about it before. If you're coming from a Linux world in particular, you'll find all of those free tools you're used too for Solaris (already compiled and packaged!).
http://www.eserv.biz Company that resells Sun hardware and software in the Quad City (Iowa/Illinois) area http://research.sun.com Interesting Sun website. You can find information on projects that Sun is working on including lots of technical papers on various subjects. http://www.sun.com/bigadmin Kind of a Systems Admin bulletin board maintained by Sun. There wasn't much useful info on this site at one time, but it appears to have lots of good stuff now. http://www.sunguru.com Website where you can submit your resume, advertise, find resources, etc. http://www.sunhelp.org A useful help website maintained independently from Sun. http://suned.sun.com Sun training and certification. http://soldc.sun.com Sun's Solaris developer website http://www.sunsource.net Sun's Open Source website
